Update About Proposed Board of Governors Policy

Dear Niner Nation,

Today, a new policy that affects diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) initiatives at North Carolina public universities was introduced during the UNC Board of Governors meeting.           

This policy will be voted on by the Board of Governors during their May meeting. If it is approved, it will become effective immediately. As a state institution, we are obligated to comply with UNC System policy.

We are reviewing the policy and anticipate receiving further guidance. We will work carefully to continue to foster a welcoming, supportive community that prioritizes student success and retention and the overall wellbeing of faculty and staff.
