Senior Executive Assistant to the Chancellor

Shari joined the Chancellor’s Office in January 2012. As Senior Executive Assistant to the Chancellor, Shari focuses on personal management of the Chancellor’s time and workflow; manages the day-to-day coordination of the Chancellor’s schedule; and provides research and analysis to the Chancellor and Chief of Staff as needed. She works with the Chancellor to develop and drive his personal communication strategy internally and externally, including composing and editing correspondence, speeches, statements for media and public relations, and executive communications. She also ​provides administrative support and speechwriting for the Chancellor’s spouse. She is responsible for facilitating the flow of accurate communication among the Chancellor, the Chief of Staff, on-campus administrators, UNC General Administration, the Board of Trustees, national and international dignitaries, community and political leaders, the general public, faculty, staff and students. 

Shari graduated from Wingate College in May 1992 with a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics and minors in Accounting and English. She earned a Master of Business Administration degree with a Human Resources Concentration from Pfeiffer University in 2011.
