University Convocation

The University Convocation is a chance for members of the campus community to hear about UNC Charlotte’s long-term goals and immediate plans and issues. Faculty and staff are invited to the University Convocation and the reception preceding it.

Speakers will include the President of the Staff Council and President of the Student Body.  The Faculty President will present the faculty agenda for 2019-2020.  Also addressing the campus community will be Provost Joan Lorden and Chancellor Dubois, who will speak on the state of the University.

The University Convocation is also a time to welcome new members of the faculty and professional staff and to recognize faculty members who have been granted permanent tenure, those who have been promoted to full professor, and those who are beginning their 25th year of service to the University.  The newest Bonnie E. Cone Early-Career Professor also will be introduced.

A general faculty meeting in the form of a question-and-answer session will immediately follow the Convocation.  All members of the campus community are welcome to remain for the meeting.
