Chancellor's "Fast Five" Update

Phil's Fast Five

The purpose of these articles is to give the campus community a behind-the-scenes glimpse into some of the priorities and projects that occupy my time and attention week in and week out. To keep it simple (and to keep you from dozing off), I’ll boil it down to a short and sweet “Top 5” list.

Chancellor's "Fast Five" Update: May 15, 2017

Thanks to an especially busy couple of weeks, this update is a bit overdue. But I did want to check in with you once more before the summer break.

Chancellor's "Fast Five" Update: April 6, 2017

Greetings, Niner Nation! And welcome to a new installment of "What does the Chancellor really do around here?" Since my last update...

Chancellor's "Fast Five" Update: March 24, 2017

I don't know about you, but the boost of energy brought about by my refreshing spring break lasted until about 10am on the first day back. But as they say, there's no rest for the weary...so we've been charging full-speed ahead. Here's a little of what's been happening and what is coming up:

Chancellor's "Fast Five" Update: March 2, 2017

Chancellor's "Fast Five" Update: February 2, 2017

As I began flipping through my calendar and thinking about what to include in the next “Fast Five” update, it occurred to me that this week includes Groundhog Day. So I got up early, poked my head out of Bissell House, and didn't see my shadow. I'm told the real Punxsutawney Phil had just the opposite experience. So we have a toss-up: six more weeks of winter for Pennsylvania and spring around the corner for all 49ers.

The next couple of weeks are plenty busy and challenging for the folks in my office, so good weather would be welcome.

Chancellor's "Fast Five" Update: January 11, 2017

Welcome to a new year and a new semester. I hope your holiday break was a great one that was spent with people you love, doing things that you enjoy, and taking time to reflect and refresh. My lovely wife and I were fortunate to spend time traveling to wonderfully warm places and unplugging from the real world for a while. Of course, being greeted by "Snowmageddon" upon our arrival back in Charlotte made for a harsh re-entry...but it's still good to be home.
